Dr. Yana G. Santa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Applied Clinical Psychology, and art therapist. She obtained her BA in Psychology from California State University Northridge in 2011, MA in Marriage & Family Therapy/Art Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute in 2014, and PsyD in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2017.
Dr. Yana's focus is grief & loss, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Her therapy approach is person centered, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and holistic. She utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety (SS), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition to and as needed, she uses somatic techniques, neurobiology, hypnosis, mindfulness, meditation, sound healing vibrational therapy, art and play therapy.
Dr. Yana has experience in providing clinical and case-management services to culturally diverse populations with a broad range of diagnoses, needs, ages (7–89 years old), and within individual, family, and group settings. She has worked in various settings such as community mental health agencies contracted with Department of Mental Health (DMH), psychiatric hospitals, schools (k-12), intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, youth probation/foster residential treatment, skilled nursing facility, and board and care.
Yana is currently an external provider for Kaiser Permanente, and accepts private pay clients in private practice for telehealth sessions.
